I was scheduled 3 times for an electrician to come out and give me an estimate and all 3 times I was told the electrician got stuck on previous job which took more time than he thought. After 2nd time was told service fee for electrician to come out would be waived. I never received service, will find someone else.

I booked an appointment at 8 am today for a chirping smoke detector. I was given a window from 12-4. I was called around mid day to say they would not be able to come to my house until tomorrow. This is classic bait and switch. I now have to try to get someone to come today and it will be impossible this late in the day and I will have to pay exorbitant prices. You can’t sleep with the chirping sound. They made no mention I might not get service today.

2 times I scheduled to have a person out to do some work, both times they were so late that there was no time to do the work. Meanwhile, 2 days of rearranging my schedule to be here are wasted. Would not recommend, they dont seem to care about their customers time.

Be aware! Their return policy sucks. We hired their services to install new smoke detectors. The system was not what we expected. They charged us $2000 to install smoke detectors that are cheap. A couple of days after the service, we asked for a partial refund because the detectors were not working properly and we have to change the whole system. They refused to refund ANY money. $2000 wasted You asked what else you could have done. The answer is simple: offer a partial refund for equipment that demonstrably failed. The failure was not ambiguous. One smoke detector triggered while the others did not activate at all — that is a systemic malfunction, not an ant problem. We are not disputing the labor. We never were. We are disputing being charged for equipment we cannot use and will never use. Your return policy leaves customers with no recourse when a product fails within days of installation. That is the core issue. We were not asking for a full refund. We were asking for the cost of the equipment — equipment you can take back. A fair exchange: you get your detectors, we get a partial refund. Simple. This was never about effort. It was about a return policy that protects the company at the expense of the customer.

I had a very disappointing experience with the customer service over the phone. The representative lacked professionalism and focused more on selling than understanding my needs. I offered to provide all the necessary information upfront to save time, but she insisted on scheduling an in-person visit, assuring me it would be “no obligation.” However, just before ending the call, she mentioned a $59 fee for the visit—something that was not disclosed earlier. At no point did I request an on-site visit, and this felt misleading. As a service provider myself in the moving industry, I believe in transparency and earning business by providing value. I do not charge potential clients for estimates because I understand the importance of building trust and relationships. Overall, this experience felt unprofessional and disappointing, and as a result, they have lost my business.

I hired Mr. Electric to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet (EV charging outlet) less than two feet from my breaker box. The total cost after a $100 military discount was $860. When I asked about the price, the technician explained it was because an “industrial-grade outlet” had to be used. However, the exact outlet installed typically retails for $45–$60. Even adding reasonable costs for the breaker, wire, junction box, and faceplate, the materials should have been in the $150–$200 range. That means I was charged more than $660 in labor for a job that was less than two feet from my breaker box and took under 40 minutes to complete. The lack of an itemized receipt made it hard to understand the breakdown, and the pricing feels unreasonably high for the scope of work performed. I recommend anyone considering Mr. Electric ask for a detailed estimate in writing before agreeing to service.

Shawn Andrew

Make sure to look at their negative reviews. I would not recommend this company. They took advantage of me and over charged me for an install for two outlet.

Ruper P.G.

Unprofessional and total rip off for one outlet installed.

charged $60 to send someone out, only for him to come and say it’s an additional $200 diagnostic fee to actually look at the problem. Asked the representative on the phone several times how much it was total for visit fee and any diagnostic fees and they reassured me it was only $60. Went with another company (bacon) that charged half of that and it includes diagnostic. They got the whole job done for what these people charge just to come out and take a look at it. Do not recommend at all.

UPDATE: As you can see, their response requested that I call them back, which I did. However, the representative I spoke to was unaware of the response, took my details, and assured me that someone would contact me by Monday, January 13th. As of January 15th, I have yet to receive a follow-up. These responses to negative reviews appear to be empty promises intended to improve the company’s image, while in reality, no action is taken. ****** Called them to diagnose the issue since electric water heater was not turning on.. $60 fee to come out “diagnosed” for 2 hours, found no issues and charged me $800. electrical issue in the water heater was not fixed. Promised to send the pictures but never heard anything again. Called them again, no call back. Never heard anything. Terrible service, price gauging. Called another electrician from smaller company, they found faulty junction box fixed it and charged me $125. I will never hire Mr. electric. Stay far away.

I had a appointment with Mr. Electric to replace my exhaust system in the bathroom. The electrician came out and said it would be 1300.00, because someone had removed the wiring and he would have to replace it, and send another tech out to go in the attic. He said he could not reach it. I called Oak Cliff Certified Electrician and they did a great job for 400.00. Mr. Electric is a rip off.

Pretty disappointing experience. Found them online looking for someone to install a new Ring doorbell as my old Ring doorbell had stopped working. They don’t give estimates or quotes over the phone, even for routine things like doorbell camera installations, and charge just for having someone visit you to give you a quote. When I expressed hesitancy about scheduling an appointment and paying just for a quote, they suddenly were able to drop the price for the visit as long as I booked it while I was on the call. They were able to get me scheduled within a few days, which was helpful. The technician arrived and diagnosed the issue as the doorbell wiring not being powered, despite the fact that I showed him the previous doorbell had been powered with the existing wiring. He recommended getting a battery powered doorbell, suggesting that connecting this to the wiring would resolve the issue. Even though he was unable to resolve the issue, I was still charged ~$250. After ordering and installing a battery powered doorbell myself, I was disappointed to find that the wiring still wasn’t working as he suggested it would. After, I just switched to electric doorbells throughout my house. It was disappointing to be charged so much and to have it not even lead to resolution.

Price gauging and bad communication. How is half hour of work and a new outlet $600? I called in to get an explanation and no call back. I will never use them again and would not recommend them

GROSSLY OVERPRICED! SCAM! My bathroom light went out. It is one of those that you have to change the fixture not just the bulb. I know because we installed this light. We called an electrician because before the light went out the switch was turning on the fan briefy before the light and being that our home was built in 1960 we were concerned it was more then the LED light we installed less than 2 years ago. So I called Mr Electric. Friendly operator, asked if we were Veterans or Seniors and if there was anything else since to look at since I was already paying a service charge that I needed to have looked at. Well, I did have an outdoor outlet that was no longer working and my pool lights needed a new transformer (I have 2 proposals already) but I wanted to see if it might be less expensive just having an electrician repair instead of a pool company. I was unable to stay for electrician but I left written notes with my phone number. My husband is disabled and was there to provide access only. I received 2 calls. 1 to ask me where my pool lights were located... um IN THE POOL. 2. To sell me a Surge Protector. When I got home I had a new $20 bathroom light and the outdoor outlet was working for $1200! There wasn't even an electrical issue! He changed the light out and receptical. He charged $429 to check up to 4 plugs... over $500 for the $20 light that took me 5 minutes to install. I called to discuss the outrageous charges and the very nice person now had a very different tone. My husband did sign the quote. I explained he was disabled and she argued with me and said she would forward my concerns to her complaint department and someone would call me by 5pm the next day. Still waiting for that call. They said they asked if we were Veterans or Seniors for a discount but I don't see anything noted about a discount on our invoice attached. Maybe its for different reasons. $1200 for a light that takes 5 mintues to install and a receptical replacement neither of which needed an electrician. They have a signed quote so we have no recourse but learn from our mistake! BEWARE!

Good morning Wanda. Per our conversation on yesterday you were to call me back regarding my concerns with your tech Warren not completing the approved job through my warranty but wanting to come back later to do the job on his own giving me his personal cell. I look forward to hearing back regarding the work order that was approved through my warranty. As I texted him and spoke with him to let him know why would I pay you to do a job my warranty has already covered and that didn’t make sense. He then called me to say he would come back out and drop the plug under the main panel. I told him that’s what should have been done when you were out not you telling me you would come back out and fix later. My son and daughter heard this conversation from other room and the tech in training with him heard . I didn’t hear back from you on yesterday so I look forward to speaking with you today before I call my warranty back with my concerns. As now last text I got from him he’s now saying warranty want cover plug

Not recommended if you have a commercial property. Called them out to bid a job at a small apartment building and their quote was six times the other vendors that looked at the job. It was a waste of everyone's time, they should have just said they didn't want to take the job.

Aziz Kabani

Ripoff. They send inexperienced technicians to do the job which they are unable to finish the work. Still they charge heavily and never finish the job. Not recommend at all. Please be careful with this company.

Stay FAR away from this place. Had an electrician come out to diagnose a failed plug in my child’s bedroom. Electrician stated that the reason plug failed was because of certain wiring issues and lack of sealant within the caps. Had my normal electrician company come out today to check out other plugs in the home and examine this electricians work. Found out this guy reused old faulty caps and did not put an ounce of sealant. Plugs were sparking creating fire hazard. Stay away!!!!

Never showed up for appointment , scheduled bid 5 days prior- took day off work- frustrating

I'll be the first to admit that I sometimes ask too many questions and I talk a little bit too much. The reality I'm just trying to learn and figure out what the best plan for me is. So my experience the technician wasn't the best he was a cool guy and he was respectful for most of the conversation and I told him you know I'm real with you you be real with me. But while I'm trying to figure out what I want to do, how much I can afford, and so on just to be told am I going to buy something cuz he doesn't want me to waste his time my wasting his time it's just a rude comment I was not expecting

My story is too long to write! In the end, they NEVER fixed my problem AT ALL and yet they charged me $430 for 3 small wires which didn't needed to be replaced or fixed the problem says the ONCOR technician(when I had to call them after Mr. Electric technician left without fixing my problem). If you go to other websites, you will see bad ratings for this company! DON'T USE THEM! I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU HIRE THEM!

I had a guy come out to fix my hallway light he came in acting very weird wanted to change me a crazy price when I declined the service he wanted to charge me 220 for a service fee he didn’t want to leave my house very weird I had to call the police

The details about how we ended up paying almost $400 to replace a single light switch because we were in a time crunch are really too embarrassing to post. But just so everyone’s on the same page, please be aware that the $59.95 Dispatch fee does not include ANYTHING, except showing up at your door. As soon as they come in, they tell you the real diagnostic cost – which is outrageous - and then, if you don’t agree to pay that, they keep your $60 anyways. So, you’re pretty much trapped in a bait and switch.

I had an issue with my outdoor outlet kept tripping, so I thought I will call a dependendable company this time, so when the guy arrived I told him we have an issue with the outlet under the tree in the front before and that is where it keeps tripping from, but he ignore that and decided to do a deep diagnostic to figure out where the problem is, so he told me he will charge 420.00 to do the deep diagnostic and in my stupidity I though that is part of the repair and over that my understanding is a pay parts. oh NO he spent 3 hours taking every outlet apart ( I have about 12 outdoor outlets,) then toward the end he gets to where I told him the problem is and guess what that is exactly where it was he just wanted to waste Time so he can justify charging the 420.00 it was just a scam which disapoing from a big company name. at the end he tells me it is going to cost about 2500.00 of course I said no. my brother who is just a mechanic game the next day took him an hour only and 42.00dollars for parts to replace a frayed wire and add a little box. I tried to reach out to his company and so far no body reached to me yet.

Ridiculously overpriced. Go to yelp and read reviews before you pick these guys. $500 for something a teenager could do by watching videos online. Choose an independent electrician.

James Harper

Charge me $600 to replace a fuse in my fuse box then try to sell me another item he was pushing was a box outside he wanted to sell me for 7000 next day I got up call another electrician they replace another fuse that went out charge me 125 so one charge me 604 a fuse the other one 125 now which one would you use

Ky Fiser

The company sends out incompetent technicians. Tried to simply get a quote for a generator install. The tech that came did not understand the job. Gave incorrect information. Never provided even a quote. In trying to get in touch with someone at their office, George Dupont "manager" called me but I tried to call back 5 different times, never answer. WHen finally spoke was less than helpful. When I tried to explain the insanity I had experienced with the company. Became defensive, stated it was being talked about internally and then said they did not want my job. All I ever did was try to get a quote to install a generator. Terrible company. DO NOT USE.

minorka2

Got ripped off. Paid for over priced ower surge protector but the electrician installed a cheaper power s surge protector. Electrician said there was 5year warranty on the expensive power surcharge protector but turned out to be limited warranty. Be careful with the company! Very shady and dishonest electrician!!
